Equipment
The following is an incomplete listing of ghost hunting equipment with a description of why they are used in our field.
♦ EMF Meter: senses electromagnetic fields (EMF) within various radiuses of the meter, depending upon the quality of the meter. Often used by electricians.
♦ K II: Type of EMF meter that uses lights.
♦ MEL Meter: Contains EMF and digital thermometer.
♦ Digital Recorder: Used to capture electronic voice phenomena (EVP)
♦ Real time analysis digital recorder: captures EVP and allows for an investigator to hear them "in the moment" with headphones
♦ Digital Camera: Used to attempt to capture light anomalies, apparitions, any visual phenomena. Phenomena may or may not be present to the naked eye.
♦ Video Camera:Used to attempt to capture light anomalies, apparitions, any visual phenomena. Phenomena may or may not be present to the naked eye. Also records audio for EVP.
♦ Motion Sensors: Alerts investigators to movement in an area. Best used in a room with no human presence and a video camera for most effectiveness.
♦ Flashlight: For investigators' safety.
♦ Static Night Vision Cameras: for night hunts to take pictures/video in the dark, these are generally set in an area and not moved
♦ White noise generator: creates a sound disturbance and energy that is it believed a spirit or entity can pull from and use to make contact in one form or another. Voices or EVP are said to be captured in the white noise as well
♦ First Aid Kit: For investigators' safety.
